| ”The purpose of The Finnish Buddhist Union (SBU ry.) is to act as a co-operation organisation of Finnish Buddhist groups. It works to maintain Buddhist values and to encourage the practice of Buddhism in Finland. It actively encourages tolerance of different religions and world views.
The Finnish Buddhist Union (SBU ry.) represents all member organisations equally to the state, to scientific organisations and to national and international 3rd sector organisations. It works to make Buddhism visible in Finland and to develop equality between Buddhists. It tries to ensure that Buddhists’ religious needs are met by public institutions, especially in schools and in health care institutions. Membership can be applied for by a Buddhist group or an individual who wants to support the work of the Union. Applications should be sent by email to the Secretary.” Mrs Irma Rinne |
